microAeth® / AL80 New

AethLabs AL80 device at skew angle

The microAeth® AL80 is a real-time Black Carbon aerosol monitor. This instrument comes in an outdoor rated enclosure with insulation, sampling inlet protection, and sun shield. It is lightweight and small enough to be quickly installed for measuring aerosol Black Carbon concentration in real-time without intervention for up to approximately 1-2 weeks. The microAeth incorporates the same Aethalometer® measurement technology which has been used worldwide for over 40 years.

The AL80 is a self-contained instrument with a built-in, long life brushless pump, closed-loop flow control, and data storage. With new built-in WiFi technology, all data stored locally on the device can be downloaded directly over the device's built-in WiFi interface or transmitted to AethLabs' cloud data management system in real-time or bulk data transfer when a network is available.

The instrument operates on wall or solar power continuously for up to approximately 1-2 weeks before the sampling filter must be exchanged. The air sample is collected on Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter media. The filter media is housed in an easy to replace filter strip for simple handling in the field.

The microAeth AL80 is designed as a cost-effective outdoor instrument that can be used in fixed-site and mobile measurements.
