Dashboard data processing updates related to flagging

We've made some updates to the way that data files are processed and flags are displayed.

  • The 'Boundary points with a deviation above twice the average' flag was usually not flagging points which met the criteria for being flagged. This has been corrected and you may now see more flagged data points at the beginning and/or end of the data file if you process your data with this option turned on. We are still evaluating this particular flag to determine if additional tuning needs to be made to make this as useful as possible. If you feel it is excluding valuable data points, feel free to not use it. It is not on by default.
  • We have also clarified the add/edit data file interface to not show the option to hide flags from the postprocessed dataset if there was no flagging options set.
  • In addition, if there is no data smoothing going on and if the flags are not hidden from the postprocessed dataset, the resulting chart does not show a postprocessed data series, since it would be identical to the original data series.

We have opted not to automatically reprocess your data and give you the option to do so. Data files which have been processed with the old methods will show a notice at the top of the page.
